This shadow boxing drilling session is focused on honing in on jabs from both sides and lead front snapping kicks.

By mastering the jabs and front snapping kicks you'll be able to keep distance, maintain range, disrupt their rhythm and setup further power shots.

Drill Structure

  • Jabs: Work on jabs from both orthodox and southpaw stances. If your orthodox jab feels sharper, but the southpaw needs work that's why you drill. Keep the jab crisp, with hands returning to the chin and no looping punches. Chin stays down and the opposite hand remains glued to the jaw.
  • Front Snapping Kicks: Focus solely on lead front snapping kicks, isolating one side at a time. Slow it down to perfect the mechanics: knee up, then snap. Precision is key.
  • Movement: Incorporate forward and backward shuffles, blending them with jabs and kicks. Drill combinations like jab-kick and kick-jab to build flow, snap and speed.
