Got a secret super health recipe - a Russian salad straight from the former motherland. I've been eating this salad since I was a kid, when my parents used to make it for me. Now, I keep the tradition going, making it pretty much weekly. It's my go-to salad, a perfect side to any meal.

And what does a salad have to do with training? Everything - quality food means good nutrients and that equals energy.

So, here's what you need and how to put it together.

What You'll Need

This salad only calls for 5 ingredients:

  • Tomatoes: I like using Campari tomatoes, but you can grab tomatoes on the vine or whatever kind you fancy. I go with about 5 to 6 Campari ones.
  • Cucumber: Half a cucumber.
  • Onion: A quarter to half an onion.
  • Olive Oil: I stick with organic extra virgin olive oil.
  • Salt: Sea salt to bring it all together.

For an extra nutrient punch, I sometimes toss in parsley or cilantro, but that's up to you.

How to Make It

  • Tomatoes First: Slice up those 5–6 Campari tomatoes (or your pick) and toss them onto a plate.
  • Cucumber Next: Slice half a cucumber, add it to the tomatoes.
  • Onion: Slice up a quarter to half an onion, throw it in with the cucumber and tomatoes.
  • Add Oil: Pour on some organic virgin olive oil.
  • Salt It: Sprinkle in sea salt to taste.
  • Mix It: Stir it all up.

Your salad's done! Quick and easy.
